What We Do

Every Surface, Hand-Finished

Five finish families cover the work — interior microcement, stamped resurfacing, exterior resurfacing, decorative staining and sealing, and new decorative concrete. Each is built on a proven system we've refined for Middle Tennessee's climate. From a single stained floor to a whole-home installation.

New Decorative Concrete

Concrete Construction

Stamped & Washed Finishes

New driveways, walkways, patios, and approaches poured fresh and finished to match the architecture of the home — stamped patterns and washed exposed-aggregate looks, including Top Cast and Vanderbilt finishes. Designed, managed, and warrantied by Lafayette.

Exterior Resurfacing

Stamped Concrete Resurfacing

Our Rinnova System

Tired, faded, or dated stamped concrete brought back to estate-grade without the cost and mess of a tear-out. Rinnova resurfaces existing stamped patios, pool decks, and walkways with a fresh, integrally colored finish built to hold up outdoors.

Exterior Resurfacing

Exterior Concrete Resurfacing

Sabbia & Strada Systems

Premium overlays that renew pool decks, porches, patios, and driveways with a durable, slip-resistant, designer-grade surface. Sabbia, our Architectural Quartz finish, turns a worn slab into the best-looking hardscape on the property; Strada, our Structural Broom Finish, carries traffic-rated durability across driveways.

Staining & Sealing

Concrete Staining & Sealing

Our Patina Service

Rich, lasting color and a protected finish worked into the concrete you already have — interior floors, patios, porches, and garages. Patina is the fast, high-value refresh, usually finished in a day or two, that makes a plain gray slab look intentional.

Interior Floors & Walls

Interior Microcement

Velluto & Aria Systems

A hand-troweled, joint-free mineral finish for floors, walls, showers, countertops, and fireplaces — custom-tinted and sealed for daily life in homes where the finish matters as much as the function. Available hand-troweled as Velluto or spray-applied as Aria.

Why Craftman

The Craftman Experience

The finish is the reason you call. The experience is the reason our clients refer us. Lafayette is on site from start to finish, because your home isn't a job site to us.

Owner on every job

The person you first meet is the person responsible for every aspect of your project. Lafayette leads the design, selects the specialty crew of finishers he has worked alongside for years, and stays accountable through the final walk-through.

You hear back the same day

Every call and message gets a same-business-day response. Every time. During an install, you get daily updates and photos — so you always know exactly where your project stands.

A quote you can trust

Fixed scope, written change orders, no surprise line items between the estimate and the final invoice. We walk the space, scope the work in detail, and put it in writing before a bag is opened.

Climate-tested finishes

Our microcement and resurfacing systems are formulated and adjusted for Middle Tennessee's humidity and temperature swings. Finishes that look right on day one and hold up year after year.

A clean, protected home

Floor protection, dust containment, and a tidy site every evening. Discriminating homeowners mention cleanliness in their reviews because it's rare — with us it's standard.

Who We Work With

Homes Where the Finish Detail Matters

Craftman Concrete works in homes where the finish detail matters — primary residences, second homes, and estate properties across Brentwood, Belle Meade, Forest Hills, Franklin, and Middle Tennessee. We're often the concrete specialist on projects led by interior designers, architects, and custom builders, and we work directly with homeowners running their own renovations.

Whether the project is a custom driveway replacement, structural resurfacing, or fine interior finish, Lafayette leads the design, selects the specialty crew of finishers he has worked alongside for years, and is responsible for every aspect of the installation. Smaller projects — a single room, porch and patio updates, or pool deck rejuvenation — often fit into our calendar between larger installations, so don't hesitate to reach out for a focused scope.

What Happens Next

From First Call to Final Walk-Through

Most homeowners have never hired a decorative concrete finisher before, and the not-knowing is the uncomfortable part. Here is exactly how a project runs, start to finish, so there are no surprises in either direction.

Step OneThe first contact

You call, text, or pick a time on this site. Booking online puts the visit straight onto Lafayette's calendar — no phone tag to get on the schedule. Mark then calls ahead to confirm the address and the areas you want looked at. Call or write instead and you will hear back the same business day.

Step TwoThe confirmation

Mark calls before the appointment to confirm the details — the address, the rooms or surfaces in question, access, and anything Lafayette should bring. The visit starts with the particulars already in hand instead of spending the first twenty minutes gathering them.

Step ThreeThe walk-through

Lafayette comes to the house — plan on 45 to 90 minutes depending on scope. We measure, look at the existing substrate, check moisture and drainage where it matters, and talk through how the finish will meet your trim, thresholds, and adjoining materials. This is also where we tell you if a different approach would serve you better, or if this is not the right finish for the space at all.

Step FourThe proposal

A written scope with a fixed price. What is included, what is not, how long it takes, and what we need from you. Changes after that point are handled as written change orders, so the number you approve is the number you pay.

Step FiveThe install

Floor protection and dust containment go in before any work starts. The site is left clean every evening. You get photos and a short update at the end of each day, so you know where things stand without having to ask.

Step SixThe hand-back

We walk the finished work together, in daylight, and anything that is not right gets corrected before we call it done. You receive care instructions for the specific finish installed and a written warranty. We check back in after the first month.

Common Questions

Questions We Hear Most

What is microcement?

Microcement is a mineral-based finish applied by hand or spray in thin layers over existing floors, walls, showers, countertops, and fireplaces. It's smooth and joint-free, custom-tinted to your color, then sealed for daily use — a refined alternative to tile or stone without a tear-out.

Can you resurface concrete instead of replacing it?

Yes. When the slab is sound, we resurface it — Rinnova over dated stamped concrete, and Sabbia or Strada over exterior slabs like pool decks, patios, and driveways. When concrete is past saving, we pour new decorative concrete. We assess the substrate first and tell you straight which path fits.

Is your exterior resurfacing slip-resistant and safe around pools?

Yes. Sabbia, our Architectural Quartz finish, is finished smooth and comfortable underfoot while staying slip-resistant where water and bare feet meet. It's built for pool decks, patios, and porches, and it's traffic-rated enough to resurface a driveway.

What areas do you serve?

Greater Nashville and the surrounding Middle Tennessee communities — Brentwood, Belle Meade, Forest Hills, Franklin, Green Hills, Hendersonville, Nolensville, Spring Hill, and Arrington — plus homes within about 60 miles of Nashville.

Who actually does the work?

Lafayette Mecham has led every install since 2017. He walks the space, leads the design, and selects the specialty crew of finishers he has worked alongside for years. The person you first meet is the person responsible for every aspect of your project.

How do quotes and warranties work?

Every project starts with an in-home consultation, followed by a detailed written proposal within 5–7 business days. Scope is fixed in writing, any changes are handled with written change orders, and every project is backed by a clear, written warranty.

Let's Begin

Let's Talk Through Your Project

Call or send a note and you will hear back the same business day. Lafayette visits the home, walks the project areas with you, talks through finish options and design intent, and follows up with a detailed proposal within 5–7 business days. Plan on 45–90 minutes for the visit — these are working sessions, not sales calls.
